On of my missions in life is to love on and get to know the Somali people here in Louisville. God has really opened my missions heart towards these people and i have really enjoyed getting to know my new Louisville friends. If you have kept up with my blog, you will see – i have taken quite a few pictures of them. I hope one day to visit their country or take a photography mission trip there to just see what kind of life they led before they were forced to leave – some of the people i know here in louisville have lost family members in the process of escaping from their homes in Somalia. One of my dreams as a photographer is to use my photography for not just weddings but to impact the world however i can through pictures and images and to hopefully create in your heart – a love for people all over the world.. just as i love my friends here.
Recently .. we had a cookout just for fun and they got to roast smores and eat hot dogs (beef – of course! they are muslim) And we played for hours on the trampoline.. so much fun!!! We wore those kids out .. haha. They pretty much all fell asleep on the way home. Here are some pictures of all the fun:

Okay.. she moved a few months ago but i am a little behind on the blogging.. and i just know you still want to hear about it :)
One of my very best friends, got a job offer she just couldn’t refuse- it’s a really great opportunity and although we are so happy for her – we miss her terribly. Luckily, the job is in a fun place like ATLANTA!!!! warm weather, tons to do – great churches!! and not to mention lots of other single people to meet and and be friends with.. there are just not that many in louisville comparatively. So me and a few friends, went to Atlanta for the weekend to help her move in. And yes, i took pictures – that is what photographers do – duh :-P
Amazingly, Heather’s co-workers really helped her out in moving her in. In fact, before we even arrived – all the heavy stuff was inside her cute little cozy atlanta apartment. This meant that us girls could DECORATE :) yay!

First of all, i have ever mentioned how much i love to do senior pictures. I have so much fun every time. I think having a background in youth ministry really helps in this area, plus seniors are always so fun and willing to try crazy things like doing yoga on the railroad or exploring abandoned farmhouses. Ha! yep! Girls like Kelsey are one of the reasons that i love being a wedding and portrait photographer. We did this senior photography session all over louisville – from east louisville to west Louisville. Yep… from the farm lands to the city : Senior Pictures here – Senior Pictures there. Here are some of the highlights. Love the cool vintage photo affect on this one.

In a few days, i head back to the beautiful rolling hills of Ryland Lakes Heights in Kentucky to shoot a glorious outdoor fall wedding. They have even decided to close some areas off so as to maximize the outdoor scenery for a perfect wedding experience. Lakes, Golf course, railroad tracks, bridges – pretty much everything a wedding photographer could want for great outdoor fall pictures. Shooting outdoor weddings is pretty much my favorite, as a photographer. You can expect a few pictures from a Ryland Lakes Heights, Kentucky wedding soon. I can’t wait. Stay tuned. Here is just a little hint of what you might expect.
