This past weekend i had the opportunity to go to one of the biggest medical missions conferences ever at Southeast Christian Church
The Global Medical Missions Conference is hosted by Southeast Church every year and it just seems to be getting bigger and bigger. So many medical students and professionals were there worshiping the LORD and seeking out ways to impact the world for Christ. I just love maps and they had this huge one where people could pins where they wanted to go or have been. Lots of pins – very exciting:
36 votes // vote as favoriteOne of the Missions Ministers at Southeast, Ben Thornley, had a place he intended to go to as well.
41 votes // vote as favoriteI guess he wants to evangelize the sea creatures….
Anywho.. the big reason I was there was to help my friends at Spend Yourself. They had a booth in the exhibit hall – to educate people about Spend Yourself and to sell some shirts to support the various ministries they help to raise funds for and tell their stories such as SOZO, LIA, SCARLET HOPE and a brand new ministry called Resc/You. Just click on the links to find out more about the stories and the ministries that seek to evangelize and empower people – not just give band-aid solutions.
41 votes // vote as favoriteEach ministry they support is pretty amazing which is why Spend Yourself got started in the first place. This little non-profit t-shirt company – simply wanted to just tell the story and help raise money to support ministries that can impact the nations for Christ. And THAT they are doing…
38 votes // vote as favoriteThis weekend was amazing for Spend Yourself because so many got to hear the stories and so many chose to support and tell the stories through the t-shirts. It’s quite encouraging to see so many get excited about Spend Yourself, too. The booth was constantly surrounded by people wanting to hear and of course buying shirts. We were wore out- completely spent – but so much fun. Can’t wait to see how the story travels!!!

31 votes // vote as favoriteWhat is even more amazing is that this company is run strictly by volunteers who believe in the cause – which means 100% of the profits go right to the ministry you choose to support. OH.. and did i mention – you can win free t-shirts for a year. Click here to find out how to register.

A few weekends ago – i headed out to Henderson, KY to take pictures of one of my best friends and her family. Downtown Henderson is actually pretty cute – and we got some great shots. I love heathers family.. so fun.. lots of laughter. And their family is so close – they are great to be with – you feel like part of the family :). If they didn’t live all the way in Henderson- i would be over there for dinner!! Here is Heather and her sister, Holly – who is a bit of a pincher (she gets me every time).

One of the best things about living in Kentucky is the fall. For the last two years, typical fall brilliance was lacking – but this year – A-Mazing! I have been at Ryland Lakes the past few days – recouping from surgery at my mom’s house. I couldn’t be at a better place especially during the fall. Ryland Lakes is a little community in Ryland Heights, KY – Several lakes and a golf course adorn the area. You can visit Ryland Lakes Country Club. Most people ride around on golf carts all day. That is what i did when i went out to take these fall photos. Check it out

Went out to Boone County – my old stomping ground- to take senior pictures for Lexi. Lexi is a senior at Ryle High School but she lives way out in Boone County on a farm. We had so much fun. She plays piano at her church so we had to incorporate her baby grand :) Tell me if you think she looks like Jasmine Star in this picture.
Such a pretty senior girl. It always amazes me how different each photography shoot can be and how personalities show through – Lexi had such a classic look and it shows.

Was invited by spend yourself to attend a fund raising dinner for LIA – an awesome organization that is impacting the world in the name of Christ – i have an opportunity to work with LIA this summer – i am so looking forward to it!! And the founder is an amazing lady – so humble – in fact i didn’t even know she was the one that started all of this until someone told me. The first time i met her – she just wanted to talk about Jesus :) – you can see why i like her so much. And definitely someone that inspires me. You will most likely hear more in the future.

Ed and Sara were so sweet. After they saw each other for the first time on the Ryland Heights Golf Course, they could not stop grinning. A few times i asked them to try and be serious.. but it was almost impossible for them not to grin. They are so in Love. It was really precious all day. They really wanted to have the wedding outside because Ryland Heights is beautiful especially for a wedding. They also requested lots of black and white photos, so of course I was happy to oblige. They both love golf too, so having it on the Ryland Golf Course was very personal for them as a couple. I am so glad i had the privilege to be their wedding photographer. I love outdoor weddings and i had a great time being their photographer for the day.
When i first arrived, the family was putting up the finishing touches.

What makes it even more special was that this lady is trying to overcome cancer – fighting this disease is a cause which both Ed and Sara are passionate about. The house was beautiful and we spent some time in there enjoying what she had created in her quaint little Ryland home.

Sitting here in long johns (ok.. not long johns…a cuter version) – but as i sit here bundled up to protect my sun tanned skin from the coldness of KY – the memory of my vacay in Destin is that much sweeter. I just want to live on the beach – Destin is great, but really any beach will do :) I mean i am a wedding photographer.. i could do my wedding photography business from there :) But alas.. i am in KY. I like KY tho – especially in the fall when the leaves are gorgeous. I need to go on a fall photoshoot. But for now.. here are some highlights of my Destin beach trip. Don’t be jealous of my sweet tan :) which btw.. no one can see with all the clothes i am wearing to keep warm Ha. oh well.
Here’s me trying to keep my hat on – it was windy.
