Meet the Bayless Family!!  Matt Bayless leads worship in Louisville for Southeast Christian and I met his wife in a ministry I am involved with called Scarlet Hope.  Since then, I have gotten to know them pretty well and I love this family!!  We spent the day near their home in Floyd’s Knob and went to play in fields.   It was an amazing day with an amazing family.   Look for part two of their family photography session this spring.   Hopefully you will recognize them :)   I’m sure the kids will look a little different.  Here are some of my favorites from the field.   Enjoy and vote on some of your faves.

You may remember Kristina and Robert from their engagement photography session in September. I had so much fun being their photographer that we just instantly became friends. A little over two years since they first met and now they are married!!! This was one of the most traveled weddings that I have other done with four different destinations around Louisville.  We started in New Albany at the Sheraton, went to the Falls of the Ohio, then to Louisville at the Presbyterian Seminary Caldwell Chapel near Garden Court and then Jeffersonville, Indiana to have the reception at 300 Spring Street. Now that’s a destination wedding!!  haha.    Their wedding was beautiful and so was Kristina. I think I was just as taken aback as her family when I saw her for the first time in her mermaid style wedding dress – she was stunning!!! Robert was so blown away seeing her the first time – he just kept holding her hand. I love this picture because it shows the warmth of their wedding.

Their whole wedding had a warmth to it which I believe shows in their wedding photography. The day started out at the Sheraton Riverside in New Albany (across the river from Louisville) where the bridal party stayed the night before.  Kristina wrote Robert a letter while everyone was putting together the final touches to look gorgeous for her fall wedding.

It was such a beautiful day with the fall colors and the warm weather, I just had to take the bridal party to the beach at the Falls of the Ohio for their outdoor wedding photos.  The bridal party was so much fun and so willing to do a little extra to get some stunning and amazing photographs for Kristina and Robert’s special day (even if it meant climbing rocks).  haha

Her sister had the best maid of honor toast I have ever heard… i guess it was more like a rap than a toast.  Believe me i looked everywhere for a copy to post her infamous wedding rap, but i haven’t been able to find it.   Here’s a photo of the memorable event and Kristina’s reaction is priceless.

Sometimes babies don’t want their picture taken.  haha.  I Love this one of Eli.   He’s giving me the look.. the eye of the tiger look. (It’s kinda our song.)  He is saying,  “Aunt Julie, take that camera outa my face.”  Oh buddy!!  I have to take pictures of you – I can’t help myself :).

It’s really unfair for you to expect me to keep this photography blog about an adorable baby short.   It was so hard to pick!!!   I love everyone of  z-man’s little baby pictures.   He is just too presh (yes, that’s a word).   This little one has been through a lot in his short life so far.   Ezekiel is a fighter and his parents are just as amazing.   Here are some of my favorites from his louisville family session.  Please vote for your faves (as many as you like).

So, what’s a great birthday idea for a teenage girl?  How about a BFF photoshoot.?   Meggie got together 11 of her closest friends and her little sister for a birthday photography session at a fun little Louisville, Ky. farm.   Teenagers are crazy fun!  Teenagers (including seniors) are some of my favorites to photograph.  Here are some of my favorites of the day.  Feel free to vote for your favorites as well and yes, you can have more than one (I do).  And leave me some comment love, too :) !!

I love the outfit choices – everyone with their cute little colored scarves and fuzzy boots.    I can just imagine all of them on the phone now trying to coordinate this- so cute.   Here are all the individual shots – it almost felt like I was doing portraits for a bridal party in a rustic setting except for the very casual clothes – haha.   Although, she was wearing white :).

I also managed to snag this one of her adorable family.  Her mom is rocking it in that yellow coat!  Seriously GORGEOUS!!    Who here thinks their family could be models?  Vote on this picture if you think so :)

I pretty much loved how her little sister knew how to do the sassy pose  – haha.  I’m thinking she has learned this from her sister – don’t you think?     I love the last one when Meggie starts to crack up at how cute her sister is.  You can tell she loves her so much.  It’s sweet. I also think it’s pretty awesome, that Meggie is using her family picture as her profile picture on Facebook.  I love it when teenagers feel close to their parents – it warms my heart.

I love Louisville, KY because you have the best of both worlds – city and country.   Right next door to Louisville is the city of Crestwood – with lots of farms and beautiful fields.  I’m kinda in love with fields and barns – so it’s perfect for me.   Although I was told by some local men, that I needed to be careful coming back in these ‘neck of the woods’ since deer season has started.   I think I’ll get an orange vest :)   but a cute one.  Orange is in now anyway!!  That was a pretty girly statement.   It’s amazing to me when parents tell me their kids are very girly and then as soon as we hit the outdoors, they are climbing things, playing in hay and exploring the barn.   I love it!!  This was totally me as a kid – I think my mom wanted me to be more girly than I was!  I much preferred going on adventures, walking down trails and making forts.   However,  I will admit that I totally loved playing with barbies too.  Us girls, well we are just complex people, you know.   Here are a few more little girls that will become beautifully complex as well.   Feel free to pick your favorites – and yes, you can pick more than one!  I did.. it’s part of being complex :)  haha

I want you to know that when I first met this family, the girls wanted nothing to do with me.  In fact, they ran from the camera and hid behind mom.   This is why a professional photographer with good interacting skills comes in handy!!  By the end of the day, they were pouting because they didn’t want to leave.   I, on the other hand, was exhausted – haha!! I love it when they start to warm up and every picture becomes more natural.

I love to customize photography packages for my brides.  Deidra was one of those brides who had specific needs and wanted to know if I could work with her.  Deidra had a beautiful small wedding at the Marriott in Louisville with just her family in attendance.   I loved working with her and the Marriott was wonderful as well.   She also had a fabulous wedding planner – Joanna from Essential Designs. The whole night was just wonderful and this couple was deliriously in love.  Here are a few from this intimate wedding

I have known Amanda and Gabe for about five years.  It’s so amazing to see how their friendship turned into romance.  Gabe is so good for Amanda and he makes her laugh.  Watching them interact together was so sweet and adorable – I’m a fan!  As a photographer, I often get the privilege of sharing in some intimate moments with couples.  It’s so awesome to see people in love :).  I’m thankful I get to celebrate their love story!  I can’t wait for their Wedding!  Here’s some from their Engagement Session at Louisville’s Speed Art Museum.  Feel free to pick your favorites – and yes, you can have more than one :)

Looking forward to your big day! For more of Amanda and Gabe’s engagement session, click here.

Andrew went to my old high school – Boone County in Florence, KY.   It was so fun to go walking through the halls at Boone County High to see how things have changed.  I was flooded with lots of crazy memories including the Donnie Flynn theme song, which means nothing to you unless you were there!! haha.   I was so concerned with trying to be popular and cool back then.   My mom informed me the other day that I wasn’t!! hahaha.. I might have thought I was at one point, but mom knows best.  LOL.   At least I have some fun memories.   I wasn’t as level headed as Andrew is, that’s for sure.   He’s just a content young man – that’s the best way I can describe him.   His senior photography session was great!  Here are some of my favorites.  You can pick yours too!!  (and yes, you can have more than one because I do!!)

This is one of my favorite pictures for the endearment factor!  This is a totally unprompted, unplanned photo.   I was being silly as usual and thought it would be funny if Andrew would read a children’s book on the floor while all the reference books were behind him.  Just as we got set up for the photo, in walks his little brother who didn’t see me at all and just walked over to his big brother and sat in his lap to look at the book.   It was adorable!  I told Andrew he had to read to him now.  So we took a 10 minute break so that Andrew could read to his little brother.   So sweet.

We headed out to Little Britain Stables where he and his little brother have a horse and ride together.  And wouldn’t you know it, I also took horse riding lessons there as a kid!   Once again, I was remembering the goat that chased my cousin around and kept knocking him down.  So much fun to be in familiar places!!
