Sneak peek

Lately i have been working on a missionary prayer card for a friend who is going to Poland. Since i have a heart for missions, i want to give back to those that are trying to reach the nations for Christ. So, if someone is in need of a prayer card… please let me know. I am happy to assist them and make a card for them. Here is a draft of one that i am working on…. open to any ideas :) thanks.

so.. can you believe that the one thing that every photographer needs.. i don’t have. Ha. yep. I don’t have a camera bag. i have gone to stores and checked them all out.. i have gone on line and researched, but i can’t find one that i am in love with…. And if i am going to spend a lot of money on a camera bag.. i gotta love it. so. yes.. i just lug all my stuff in borrowed bags or a backpack or something.

The other day, this little baby came across my eyes.. and i think my heart stopped. A Ketti Bag!! It’s adorable :) I love this bag. It had me at hello. But am i gonna get it… ha, i still have to look at the inside. It’s a definite contender :)

Spent the day in Louisville taking some photos for save the date cards. We will do their full engagement sessions later, but we needed to get some save the dates out right away so that no one would miss their special wedding day :). We spent about thirty minutes out in the Louisville cold to capture some of these. We will do lots more when it’s warmer. Here are some of the favorite from the mini engagement session

Here’s a little sneaky peak at my friends mini engagement shoot in downtown louisville. I say mini because we just needed a few pictures for a save the date and the rest of the engagement session will be done when it’s warmer in louisville… much warmer :). I love this one.. because it it so them.. playful and fun.

I met this wonderful lady at a women’s retreat and got to hear her story. I was so happy to be able to take pictures for her and her husband of 20 years as they celebrated 20 years of marriage by renewing their vows. They have shared that God has redeemed and blessed their marriage and they used this time to confess that to friends and family by renewing their vows in a wedding ceremony. It was wonderful to capture this special moment in photos. Here are a few of my favorites.
Mark practicing his vows.

Carrie excited to see Mark. They are so in love.

There are some brave souls out there… willing to go out into the wintery mess of Louisville and play in the snow for some fun-filled engagement photos. After seeing an amazing engagement photography session IN the SNOW!!! – by the fabulous Bobbi + Mike – i was so inspired to do some myself. So, you can imagine how thrilled i was to have Jenna and Nate call me and ask if they can get some photos in the snow!! woo hoo They were pretty excited too!

Here is just a little sneak peak of a louisville engagement session in the SNOW!! so much fun… stay tuned for more.

I came home from work to find my two roommates in the snow beginning to build a snowman. Knowing their little sneaky minds, i knew that getting out of my car would mean an all out attack by snowballs. So, i grabbed my camera thinking that they would leave me alone. I mean – you don’t throw wet ice and snow at a nice camera. I guess someone forgot to tell my roommates.

Luckily – they got bored with the camera lady and moved on to each other.

I couldn’t decide if i liked the black and white or the color best – so you get both :)

Now .. time to be productive and build a snowman… it turned into a pretty big venture– as the smaller snowman just didn’t cut it. So.. we used shovels an buckets of snow to make a rather odd shaped but wide and sturdy snowman. He was rather awkward looking soo.. he became Lenard, the awkward snowman. And i must say .. i think he is best snowman on the block :)

I’m sad to report that someone just today.. was jealous of Lenard… and he was decapitated. it’s hard to be awesome!!

A few weeks ago, i mentioned in a previous post how i wanted to find signs of life in the deadness of winter. Sometimes in the midst of hard, tough even cold times – there can be a glimpse of hope.. a glimmer of life fighting through hard, cold ground.. surviving in the harshness of the surroundings. It’s like a symbol of perseverance for me. Here’s another sign of life i found in the midst of ice and snow.

i love the sliver of green. You can make it .. don’t give up.

One of my favorite places in Crestwood is the Kavanaugh Retreat Center. I have been here numerous times for weddings, retreats, church events, women’s weekends – lots of great memories at Kavanaugh. One my most favorite memories is Disciple Now.. a youth event through my church that i directed for 8 years. Last year was my last time directing this Youth weekend. One my mentors told me that you know you have led well.. if you have put things in place so that it continues well after you have gone. It was awesome to see that Disciple Now is still going well without me. I think we all desire to be in the spotlight or applauded for what we accomplished but I was so thrilled to see it go so well..because it’s not about me. I was content to be out of the spotlight and in the shadows – thankful that i got to play a part in what it has become :)

Looking forward to more fun events, weddings and retreats at Kavanaugh!!
