i can think of a million song lyrics right now. “All she wants to do is dance.. and find romance” Do you know that one? Ha.. I have been obsessed with dancing lately. I have been a dancer since I was 5. I was in ballet, jazz and tap class. I remember watching the older girls and thinking they were the bomb diggity. I actually invited them to my birthday party but they didn’t come – I’m not sure why a 17 year old wouldn’t want to come to a 6 year olds party. haha. But, I watched them step ball change and sashe.. and lots of other dance names that I can’t remember. I was hooked. My love for dance continued into middle and high school when I was on the dance team. We were pretty good.. winning competitions and such. I would often watch and re-watch Michael Jackson videos so that i could learn all the steps to Beat It and Thriller – and i did!! haha. If you hire me for your wedding, don’t be surprised to see me get up and do it. Haha… dance is in my blood! In the last two months, that passion for dance has been renewed. I watched this hip hop routine from SYTYCD… and well, i just had to learn it. In between editing shoots, i will often have a DANCE BREAK.. so i can practice. haha!! This is good that i don’t have a studio.. or people might just walk in and see me embarrassing myself. I loved it so much that I enrolled in a hip hop dance class with the Louisville Ballet. I know.. I am ridiculous! It has been amazing to just do something for fun that i absolutely love… it keeps me creative and it’s just for me. I don’t know what you got in you.. dance, writing, painting.. but whatever it is .. get up and do it. AND DANCE!!!

Keaton is such a fun artsy kind of guy. There are not that many people who can pull off wearing a hat.. Keaton can. I kinda had hat envy.. i am not gonna lie. I love the artsy look.. but i am just not sure i can pull it off. But he doesn’t just look artsy.. he is artsy. He can play the banjo!! Now, that’s cool. We had so much fun hangin out on Frankfort Avenue in Louisville. There are just so many fun places that really seemed to fit his personality. Here are some of my favorites from Keaton’s senior photography session.

Garrett is a young man that is truly his own. He wanted to do a senior photo shoot that truly captured who he was. So, we ended up pumping iron in the gym and bowling strikes in a neon bowling alley. So, fun!! Garrett helped to get his bowling team going at his high school and his team was even champions!! Here are some of my favorites from our senior photography session in East Louisville.

As I sat down to do this post, I went through all of these photos to mark which ones I wanted to use in the blog post. I pretty much marked all 83 photos. haha. So, for your sake – I cut back -way back. But just so you know, lots of favorites. Kristina brought lots of fun props to play with which always adds to my creativity. In the above picture, you can tell that Robert wanted to play with the props too. Haha – such a playful couple to photograph. All these pictures are taken in Anchorage. There are beautiful fields and hiking trails as well as one of my favorite ice cream shops eva!! It’s right next to the Village Anchor which is also delish. Here are some of my favorites from their engagement photography session. Can’t wait to do their wedding in November!!

Every fourth of July, my family has a big party and we have a turtle race. Yes, i realize that all you PETA members out there might be alarmed to hear that my five year old cousin tried to give the turtle lots of sugar so his turtle might win the race. The turtle may have been in a sugar coma since he came in last place this year. Anyways, the real reason I am writing this post is so that i can announce the winner of the free Photoshoot. Drum roll…. Stephanie Hull!!! woo hoo.. way to go girl. Keep posted for more fun contests and get your turtles ready for next years big race.

Amy and Brett are such a laid back and fun couple and so easy to work with as a photographer! I just felt like I was at home when I was around her friends and family- everyone was just relaxed and took things in stride. Their demeanor fooled me though when the reception came because they were fierce on the dance floor. I laughed pretty much all night – so much fun!! Here are a few of the favorites:

While I was photographing the bride and groom, I just happened to look over and see a few of the groomsmen practicing for the reception. Do you know what dance they are doing? I’ll give you a hint: “It’s Electric!” So funny and of course they nailed it at the reception!! Way to go Men!! Emily and Luke love dancing as well. Such a fun wedding. I loved being their photographer. Emily and Luke chose to see each other before the wedding, which of course allows for some amazing photos! Here are some of my favorites.

Meet Amy and Ryan. They have been dating for two years and at a fourth july parade, Ryan proposed. He unrolled a huge poster and got down on one knee. Amy was so surprised. You can tell how crazy in love they are. Ryan told me he was even willing to skip in a field :) – haha. Well, not quite. We had a lot of fun. Amy and Ryan love the beach so in the first part of the engagement session. We did our best to capture that – well as best you can living in Cincinnati. Ha! Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. You can see all of their pictures - here.

Kelly and Jonathan found me at a bridal show. Now, I have only been to one bridal show, but they are not exactly the sit down and get to know each other kind of atmosphere that I prefer. So, I am surprised we were even able to connect but we did!! I am so glad I went just to get to know them. Kelly’s personality is very much like my own in which we just jump in and figure stuff out as we go. Kelly and I are people who will just try something and take the risk. I imagine if it were just us two – we might get in trouble. Thankfully, Jonathan is more of the wait a minute, let’s think this through kind of guy. During the engagement session, he said, “maybe we should ask permission before we climb this fence.” Haha.. stuff like that. Whereas Kelly and I woulda done climbed it! :) It’s true. He really is the perfect match for her. And their wedding was beautiful and classic just like Kelly. It was such an honor to be able to be their wedding photographer and to become their friend. Here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding and reception at Audubon Country Club.

As I post this entry, I keep singing in my head “Baby mine, don’t you cry. Baby mine, dry your eyes.” Babies’ crying slay me.. i just have to pick them up right away. I made her cry in the beginning of this shoot… i put her on a cold surface and she just didn’t want to be there. Although – it is a great picture.. i just don’t have the heart to post it. Haha.. i am such a softie!! This is Ansley.. and she is super precious!! Welcome to the world Ansley and let me just tell you – that you have an amazing family who is pretty much crazy about you! I think she is trying to tell her Daddy something.. like watch out I’m gonna pee all over you. haha.
