The Steurer family contacted me so that they could celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary with photos.   Trying to do some romantic style photos with two little ones  (the oldest being 4) turned out to be quite entertaining.   It seems whenever we set up a shot, the kids saw it as an opportunity to jump and play  ON their parents.   So funny!!  Here are some of my favorites from the Louisville Family  Photography Session at Blackacre Nature Preserve and Farm.  By the way, if you happen to love the little girl’s clothes in this shoot.   Jaimelee makes them!! This family was a treat to shoot – I should have known with a name like Nicely, that nothing could go wrong.   We had so much fun hanging out.  They were just an easy family to like.  Here are some of my favorites from their Louisville Family Photoshoot.

Erin is my amazing personal trainer.  She just completed a 200 mile relay race across Kentucky.   And she is wonderful at getting people ready for fitness goals such as those.   She is also happily married and a mother of two.  She is pretty much the bomb dot com.   Yes, that phrase is still in.. :)   And her family is also the bomb dot com.   I love her little boys – such happy guys.    I had the pleasure of photographing her adorable family at Anchorage Park last weekend.  Here are some of my faves.

For a photographer, having your blog be down for a few days – well it’s unbearable.   So, when it started working tonight – I could not resist to throw up a session that I have been dying to blog this week.    Here is the latest family photography session for a family that I am honored to know.    Such a fun time.   Hope you enjoy your photos for years to come!

I’ve know Matt for so long – we went to school together.   His wife asked me, “Is it odd to see Matt as a Dad?”   And I was like, “No, it seems perfect.  I love seeing him so happy as a Dad and a husband.”   What a great treat for me to photograph my long time friend and his family!!   I really enjoyed spending time with them at Fox Hollow Farm.   And I think I am in love with his kids!!   :)

Charlotte is pretty much adorable.. one of the prettiest little girls I know.   Just because she is related to me – does not make me biased at all, in case you are wondering.  She is already nicknamed The Diva…lol.    She is precious and her mom is a hair dresser so, you know she never leaves the house without looking like a DIVA.  Charlotte is also a little miracle baby as her mom and dad tried for some time and with great heartache until she came along.  And we are so glad she did.   Life is precious you know – something to be grateful for.   I know that is how the family feels.   So, here are some of my faves.   She will be 1 years old soon!!!     Her Daddy is great at making her laugh.   She kept trying to eat her flower.   lolEven her Piggy has Diva qualities.  This is her favorite book…. or… the easiest book to reach (depends on which parent you’re talking to..lol).“Hey, why is nobody pushing me?”Thanks KIng Family and Happy Birthday CHarlotte!!

I’ve known the Cheong family for about 15 years.   Karen has always been a dear friend of mine since we worked together in the fitness program at Southern Baptist Seminary.  I used to call her grandma simply because she was a few years older than me and I like to tease :).  But now she is actually going to be a legit grandma!!  I also babysat her kids once on their anniversary.  I say once because I think that is the only time they asked me…lol, but for good reason.   They still talk about the time when I got the kids to put about 2 inches deep of confetti on each blade of their bedroom paddle fan for an anniversary surprise.   It was a surpise when they came home and turned on the fan to have a snowstorm of confetti filling up their room.   Karen recounts that they stood there dumbfounded until they thought “TURN OFF THE FAN.”   haha.   I love this family – always have.   They hold a special place in my heart.   I was so thrilled to be asked to do their family photos.   Here are some of my favorites – feel free to vote for yours.

i love the inbetween moments!

This is Ashley, when she was younger we used to have nicknames for each other.  At first,  it was something that sounded more negative like goofus or something like that – I actually can’t remember anymore.   I decided we should have positive encouraging nicknames…   so from then on she was known as ‘gorgeous’ and I was known as ‘beautiful’.   It’s pretty awesome to be greeted as ‘hello beautiful’ let me just say.  I highly recommend it.   So, here is Gorgeous and her handsome husband.    They are expecting soon and I know her family is very excited.  

When Ryan was younger, I remember all he wanted to do was skateboard.   He was going a mile a minute – all the time.   He always had an idea and seemed completely courageous in trying anything.   He was fun to watch and would talk your ear off.    He still is a quick thinker and now, keeps everyone laughing – including myself.    He is a character and such a fun person to be around.   Don’t you just love his mustache!!

Whitney was always my girl when she was younger.   She told me once ‘you are glitter and i am glue… because I always stick to you.’   I still see her as that little girl though i know she is now a confident young woman.  I prayed for her often as she was growing up and always checked in with her mom to see how Whitney was doing.    Anytime it starts raining while the sun is shining, I always think of her little voice and her excitement when she said, “It’s sun raining.”   Here she is all grown up and still as beautiful as ever.   Thanks Cheong Family – soo, soo fun!!!

Anchorage Park is one of my favorite places to shoot and to hang out.   They have an amazing little cafe and the Village Anchor is my new favorite place to eat.   So, why not have a family shoot there?!!  I met Missy through mutual friends who purchased a gift certificate with me for her at Christmas.   She asked if we could wait til her daughter was on furlough and I happily obliged.  Anything for the men and women who serve our country!!!   We had an amazing time!  It was a pleasure to get to know them.  Here are some of my favorites from their family photoshoot.   I LOVE, LOVE this next picture.   It’s the in-between moments that show their love for one another.  I think their daughters will love this photo.Thanks Allen Family!!

Clara may just get a little spoiled.   I know the whole family and well, they are rather excited to have a little girl on the scene.   Even her young cousins are very excited to watch her and ask all kinds of questions.  I definitely had to work to get these shots… she might be a little stubborn :).   However, I love taking baby photos especially if it means I get to hold them a bit.   Here are some of my faves from the Family Shoot.

Let’s be honest here, newborn photography is a perk.   I mean seriously, in the name of photography I get to hold precious little lives and take photos of them.  I mean- is there ever a bad picture of a baby – babies make my job ridiculously easy.   And who of you can stop with just holding them – don’t you also kiss their little heads.  You just can’t help it!!   Ahhhhh.. love, love, love!!   I will never understand a photographer who remains aloof from their subject.   I play, I interact.. i kiss little heads :).   After all, photography is a very intimate thing as I capture the most special of relationships and forever immortalize the uniqueness and specialness of a life.    So precious and such an honor to be able to share in someone’s life.   Here are some of my favorites from Norah Kate’s session.   Before any of you start freaking out about where mom was during these photos, she was so close.. i had to photoshop her out.  LOL :)   no babies were harmed during the photographing of this newborn!   lol
