Sneak peek

Sarah has an artist’s heart.  In fact, so does her father.. which means they think out of the box.  I love it!!  They had chickens in their back yard and they live in a little place in Louisville known as the highlands – haha, they are in the perfect part of town for artists.  Having your own chickens is so smart because they have fresh eggs to eat that aren’t tainted by antibiotics or hormones or anything else we have decided to give chickens to increase egg production.   We had to include the chickens in the senior photo shoot.

Their backyard is so fun, with a white picket fence, a hen house and of course the bowling ball garden :)

Sarah loves to paint.  Her favorite things to paint are illustrations for children.   We went to the Cherokee Park for inspiration.

Madi and I had so much fun in Tyler Park.  I have never heard of it before but it’s near Bardstown Road in Louisville.   This is one of her favorite places where she has spent a lot of time with her family so lots of special memories associated with this place.

As a teenager, one of her favorite possessions is her phone.  Haha.. I was not surprised.  However, she does have a superfly phone.   I don’t blame her.

Madi found me through her cousin, Keaton.  I did his senior pictures a month ago.. check it. The picture below is probably one of my favorite photos of Madi… so adorable!!  I also think it captures her bubbly personality.

Keaton is such a fun artsy kind of guy.   There are not that many people who can pull off wearing a hat.. Keaton can.  I kinda had hat envy.. i am not gonna lie.   I love the artsy look.. but i am just not sure i can pull it off.   But he doesn’t just look artsy.. he is artsy.  He can play the banjo!!  Now, that’s cool.   We had so much fun hangin out on Frankfort Avenue in Louisville.   There are just so many fun places that really seemed to fit his personality.   Here are some of my favorites from Keaton’s senior photography session.

Garrett is a young man that is truly his own.  He wanted to do a senior photo shoot that truly captured who he was.   So, we ended up pumping iron in the gym and bowling strikes in a neon bowling alley.   So, fun!!  Garrett helped to get his bowling team going at his high school and his team was even champions!!  Here are some of my favorites from our senior photography session in East Louisville.

Have a great senior year Garrett!!  Hope you bowl another 300 game!!!

I pretty much love this kid.  I have known him since 6th grade when he used to bounce into my sunday morning bible study class and hide.  I don’t know if you have ever tried to teach 6th graders before but let me just tell you – they are a challenge.  Many mornings i would come in to an empty classroom (correction – empty of boys).  The girls were seated ready for class, the boys were always hiding somewhere in the room waiting for me to find them.  After the third week of finding them in the cabinets, I stopped looking for them – eventually they would come out “Ms. Julie – we are here.  Fooled you!!”  Yep you fooled me.  They were so much fun and ridiculous at the same time!  Mark would always ask me random questions that had nothing (and i mean nothing) to do with the lesson.   In fact, he would follow me out of the classroom to tell me more random tales.   And here he is A SENIOR!!!   Ok, i am not going to lie.. i kinda feel a bit old.   And believe it or not, he still likes to ask me random questions.  He’s a great mix of contemplative thinking and goofy fun guy.  I hope that shows in his pictures.   Here are some of the favorites from his Louisville senior photography session.

Have a great senior year Mark!! And just a word of advice, when you get to college – don’t hide in the cabinets- professors don’t like that!

Nathan is the last of the four for the group senior portrait photography session i did in Louisville.   It was an amazing day with a great group of young men.. and i think they had some fun as well :)   Here are some of my faves from Nathan’s senior photo session.
