What can I say about Amanda and Brett? They are just a genuinely likeable couple. They laugh a lot and they love deep. It’s a great combination. I loved being there as their wedding photographer. I met them about a year and half ago in Louisville shortly after I started to seriously consider making photography a profession. Amanda is the type of girl who is a planner and detail oriented and it meant a lot that she entrusted me with her wedding photography. And we just worked well together – it was a joy. I was also thrilled that she chose one of my favorite Louisville venues – The Garden of Ray Eden. Outdoor weddings are my absolute favorite!! Here are some highlights from Amanda and Brett’s gorgeous outdoor wedding at The Garden of Ray Eden.

Before I continue with their wedding coverage, I wanted to give you a little look into their rehearsal dinner which was absolutely beautiful. The Tucker House created an amazing atmosphere with candles and lights and of course, wonderful food that was just sublime. Here are a few highlights of the evening:

I love this ring shot from their wedding .. because i am a snoop and ask tons of questions about their lives, I discovered that this is the beer that they had on their first date. It’s their drink.. they went from sharing a drink – to sharing their lives. AWWWWW :) I know – so deep. haha. Melissa and Steve had a beautiful small wedding in Louisville. The whole wedding – ceremony and reception was just plain sweet. I mean that literally and figuratively – since Melissa and her whole family can cook – they put a high premium on quality food and fortunately, I was able to appreciate it fully. haha. Here are some of the highlights from the wedding and intimate reception here in Louisville. I loved being their photographer.

Amy and Brett are such a laid back and fun couple and so easy to work with as a photographer! I just felt like I was at home when I was around her friends and family- everyone was just relaxed and took things in stride. Their demeanor fooled me though when the reception came because they were fierce on the dance floor. I laughed pretty much all night – so much fun!! Here are a few of the favorites:

While I was photographing the bride and groom, I just happened to look over and see a few of the groomsmen practicing for the reception. Do you know what dance they are doing? I’ll give you a hint: “It’s Electric!” So funny and of course they nailed it at the reception!! Way to go Men!! Emily and Luke love dancing as well. Such a fun wedding. I loved being their photographer. Emily and Luke chose to see each other before the wedding, which of course allows for some amazing photos! Here are some of my favorites.

Kelly and Jonathan found me at a bridal show. Now, I have only been to one bridal show, but they are not exactly the sit down and get to know each other kind of atmosphere that I prefer. So, I am surprised we were even able to connect but we did!! I am so glad I went just to get to know them. Kelly’s personality is very much like my own in which we just jump in and figure stuff out as we go. Kelly and I are people who will just try something and take the risk. I imagine if it were just us two – we might get in trouble. Thankfully, Jonathan is more of the wait a minute, let’s think this through kind of guy. During the engagement session, he said, “maybe we should ask permission before we climb this fence.” Haha.. stuff like that. Whereas Kelly and I woulda done climbed it! :) It’s true. He really is the perfect match for her. And their wedding was beautiful and classic just like Kelly. It was such an honor to be able to be their wedding photographer and to become their friend. Here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding and reception at Audubon Country Club.

Melissa and Joe have known each other since middle school. In fact, Joe was the first boy to hold Melissa’s hand. Awww… i know, super sweet. But then tragedy (play dramatic music here)- they must leave middle school and go to high school!! In a huge school, they were not able to find each other and the romance was forgotten. Sadness… Years passed and each became a fond childhood memory in their mind. Fortunately, the development of facebook enabled these two to finally reconnect (cue dramatic music). The spark was still there and soon they realized they were meant to be… :) A few months later and they are getting married at an adorable bed and breakfast in Augusta, KY. Asbury Meadows is one of my favorite places to photograph and it was amazing to be a part of this wedding and to be their photographer. Absolutely loved the feel and look of Asbury Meadows and the little town of Augusta, KY was so cute. Very vintage country which just happens to be my favorite look. Lots of old bikes and barns – just thinking about it makes me want to go back. Here are some of favorite photographs from the wedding.

Amanda is the bride that has got everything together.. she booked me as her wedding photographer about 16 months in advance! Her Louisville wedding is coming this October and I just know it will be fabulous!!! We had an amazing engagement photography session at Yew Dell Gardens, just outside of Louisville. The flowers and barn style buildings at Yew Dell made for great photographs. Here are some of my favorites:
