One of my first big weddings I ever did was at Undulata Horse Farms in Shelbyville.  When Anna asked to do her engagement photos there, I was thrilled because it’s just simply beautiful and perfect for an outdoor photo shoot.   So, we got on our boots and made the drive from Louisville to Shelbyville.  Undulata farms doesn’t do weddings anymore but Anna managed to charm them enough to let us do her engagement session, we even got a peak inside the mansion.  It’s all who you know.. I know Anna.. lol.   In fact, I’ve known Anna for a few years now.  She used to attend a bible study I led and then we got to go to Kenya together, which interestingly enough is where her and Ben first met.  He was a summer missionary there and she came to spend a few weeks in Kenya helping out.  They had to travel half way around the continent to meet and once they met, well.. it was all over – they were smitten.  And still are :).   I have evidence.   Here are some of my faves from their engagement shoot.   I must warn you there are a lot of faves… my brides are just too photogenic.

I love that Anna brought Cowboy boots.  I am seriously in love with that look – summer dress and boots.   I so need to get a pair.. especially after Anna rocked it out.

Hello hot stuff!!  Can you believe she was nervous?  The only thing she should be nervous about was melting my camera :)  Just in case, you don’t know.. i love antique chairs – when i saw this.. i knew we had to have it in the shoot.    This little segment is pretty much my fave. 
How awesome is it that we just happened to find hats that perfectly matched their outfits.. I took it as a sign.   We had to use them!!

I know this next picture makes it seem as if the horses were very cooperative.. they were not!  haha.. they wanted nothing to do with us, this was all luck.     But I like it :) I love this photo… i feel like it needs to be in a magazine :)  Thanks Anna and Ben.  I can’t wait for your wedding in October!!!   Say goodbye to our little buddy that almost kicked you.. haha.   And then check out all of the engagement photos!!

Louisville has been raining non-stop for about two weeks now and I have been getting trigger happy.   So, instead of rescheduling their engagement session, Mallory and Chas agreed to do a mini session in the rain.  Such good sports and I was happy to be shooting!!    We chased ducks, made wishes on dandelions and well, just played in the rain.   I loved Mallory’s super cute rain boots.  Props are always fun to a photographer.  I am looking forward to their sunny engagement session in a few weeks, but for now, here are my faves from their rainy day photoshoot.

Here it is, Louisville: my favorite wedding and engagement photos of 2010.  Believe me, choosing my favorite photographs was not an easy undertaking!!  Looking back at all the weddings and people I have met, I feel incredibly blessed to get to know so many awesome couples.  To be included and invited into their lives on such a special day, is truly an honor and I am so thankful for each of them.    I felt a little nostalgic looking back through all the wedding photos that sometimes I would get a little lost in remembering some of the funny moments and tear jerking moments as well.  So, here it goes!  Vote on your favorites too, the couple just may get a prize!!!

Amanda is the bride that has got everything together.. she booked me as her wedding photographer about 16 months in advance! Her Louisville wedding is coming this October and I just know it will be fabulous!!! We had an amazing engagement photography session at Yew Dell Gardens, just outside of Louisville. This couple is absolutely adorable together.. and so was their engagement photo shoot. Here is a sneak peak of the engaged couple.

Someone is gettin’ Hitched!!!! That’s how us kentucky folk say it anyway :) Another thing us Kentucky folk like to do is go on picnics. So, as i was talking with Kelly about what we would do on our way fun Engagement Photo Shoot – we decided a picnic would have to be somewhere in the mix. Kelly and John love wine so we incorporated that into their engagement session (no not the drinking it.. haha – we just represented with a bottle :)! We started in Oldham County which is just outside of Louisville.. to get the rolling fields and picnic type atmosphere.

Kelly’s eyes are awesome in this photo!! Hello Gorgeous!!This is what i call a Manly Photo.. i texture it and make it black and white… you know, beat it up a little. Give it that tough guy feel.

awwww… :) These are straight outa camera… I think they are cute here ..plus it’s a great way to preface where this was….

I found a merry-go-round!!!! Some guy in the park.. willingly pushed us in a circle whilst i took these… And he pushed us fast. Needless to say, I felt a little woosy afterwards, but it was so worth it!!
I’m dizzy all over again… haha. After, we headed to downtown Louisville to capture the city side of this couple. And yes, they rocked it out!!

Wasn’t it nice of the city of Louisville to put up all these fun colors for their engagement photos?? i thought so :) Practicing for the big day :)

I absolutely love this couple.. i laughed so much my jaw hurt. We had so much fun all over Jeffersonville in Indiana taking pictures and finding out of the way fun places. I thought of going to this part of town because of Adrianne’s Bakery. Claudia is an amazing pastry chef – seriously!! She does wedding cakes and cupcakes so i thought she would love to meet Adrianne and visit her cute little bakery for inspiration. We decided to hang out in there to start off the engagement photos as the atmosphere is so them.


I asked Ari to feed Claudia.. and he about choked her with this huge bite.. haha. I can’t wait to see what he does with the wedding cake :)


i couldn’t decide on my favorites for the this Jeffersonville, Engagement Photo session.. There were just so many… but i think if i HAD to pick. These two are my ultimate favorite Photos

There are some brave souls out there… willing to go out into the wintery mess of Louisville and play in the snow for some fun-filled engagement photos. After seeing an amazing engagement photography session IN the SNOW!!! – by the fabulous Bobbi + Mike – i was so inspired to do some myself. So, you can imagine how thrilled i was to have Jenna and Nate call me and ask if they can get some photos in the snow!! woo hoo They were pretty excited too!

These two are adorable.. Nate is so into Jenna.. He loves to make her laugh and he does it well.
