Sneak peek

I had so much fun on this shoot!  Samantha and her mom were so awesome.  We literally went all around Louisville.  The whole photo session has a great end of summer feel with a hint of vintage.   Everything about this senior session just seemed to pump up my creativity.   However, I believe this is the shoot that I got my dreaded poison oak exposure.  Haha.. I guess there is always a price a pay to get great photos :)  Here are some of my favorites of Samantha’s Photo Session:

Louisville has been raining non-stop for about two weeks now and I have been getting trigger happy.   So, instead of rescheduling their engagement session, Mallory and Chas agreed to do a mini session in the rain.  Such good sports and I was happy to be shooting!!    We chased ducks, made wishes on dandelions and well, just played in the rain.   I loved Mallory’s super cute rain boots.  Props are always fun to a photographer.  I am looking forward to their sunny engagement session in a few weeks, but for now, here are my faves from their rainy day photoshoot.

Can’t wait for the next session!!

Family Scholar House does an event every year called Sushi in the City to raise money for their remarkable organization.    I couldn’t resist sampling some of the best sushi in the city of Louisville, so I happily volunteered to help this worthwhile charity.   Family Scholar house helps to end the cycle of poverty by supporting single parents in reaching their educational goals.   This year there were so many volunteers and businesses contributing to the Sushi event.  Henry Clay even opened their doors and provided a beautiful venue for this Louisville event.    The Henry Clay is simply gorgeous- one of my favorite Louisville venues by far.   Here are some of my faves from Sushi in the City.   I must admit that whenever I look at all these photos, I find myself craving a tuna roll.   So view with caution… and expect hunger :)

The Ooh La La Bakery was amazing.  All their hand made goodies represented asian culture and were also delicious.  They were wonderful to contribute to this event for Family Scholar House.

Here it is, Louisville: my favorite wedding and engagement photos of 2010.  Believe me, choosing my favorite photographs was not an easy undertaking!!  Looking back at all the weddings and people I have met, I feel incredibly blessed to get to know so many awesome couples.  To be included and invited into their lives on such a special day, is truly an honor and I am so thankful for each of them.    I felt a little nostalgic looking back through all the wedding photos that sometimes I would get a little lost in remembering some of the funny moments and tear jerking moments as well.  So, here it goes!  Vote on your favorites too, the couple just may get a prize!!!

Thank you to all of the amazing couples for allowing me to be a part of your lives.  Photographing your special moments was truly an honor!!  Much Love to all of you :)

Meet the Beard Family!  So enjoyed being their family photographer, especially since I was recording an important moment in their lives.  Jacob, the youngest son, left just the other day to serve in the coast guard.   You can only imagine what that might be like for his family to say goodbye to him for a period of time.  I so enjoyed seeing the family connections and mutual love and respect in their family.   They were even brave enough to go outside in this winter weather with the snow to capture some amazing photos on their farm.   The best part is when I took them down to their old barn which was leaning to one side and the oldest said to me, “We have another barn that looks a lot better.”  I laughed and said, ” No, this is exactly what I had in mind. It’s perfect.”   It ended up being my favorite photo of the day.   The photograph reminds me of Narnia.  I could very easily see all three of them in that movie fighting off evil and befriending Aslan, the Lion.   Can’t you?

Their tree in their front yard was absolutely amazing.  I have no idea how old it is, but you can tell it has survived through harsh conditions with  twisted limbs and a huge trunk.   I think it can be very symbolic of families and marriages because regardless of what hardships it has endured, it has developed character and that makes it beautiful enough to stand out.  I can just imagine the root system it takes to hold up a tree of that stature – just as it takes a strong foundation to have a strong marriage and family.   I thought it ideal that such a tree would be in their front yard.

Thanks Beard Family!! I feel so honored to I had the opportunity to get to know you.  And Jacob, stay safe.  It’s nice to know that are young men like you protecting us. For the rest of their family photography session, you can click on Jules Wiegand Family Photographer.

I love to customize photography packages for my brides.  Deidra was one of those brides who had specific needs and wanted to know if I could work with her.  Deidra had a beautiful small wedding at the Marriott in Louisville with just her family in attendance.   I loved working with her and the Marriott was wonderful as well.   She also had a fabulous wedding planner – Joanna from Essential Designs. The whole night was just wonderful and this couple was deliriously in love.  Here are a few from this intimate wedding

I have known Amanda and Gabe for about five years.  It’s so amazing to see how their friendship turned into romance.  Gabe is so good for Amanda and he makes her laugh.  Watching them interact together was so sweet and adorable – I’m a fan!  As a photographer, I often get the privilege of sharing in some intimate moments with couples.  It’s so awesome to see people in love :).  I’m thankful I get to celebrate their love story!  I can’t wait for their Wedding!  Here’s some from their Engagement Session at Louisville’s Speed Art Museum.  Feel free to pick your favorites – and yes, you can have more than one :)

The Morgan Family had wanted me to do their family photos for some time.  I was so glad to finally meet them at a Scarlet Hope fundraiser event where we were able to work out the details.  Tammy was so excited and arranged a beautiful fun setting for us to do an awesome outdoor family photography session.   She found an amazing farm with lots of fun backgrounds and activities that allowed my creative mind to kick into gear.       When her girls first jumped out of the car with their little pink hairbows, I thought “I hope the girls are okay with playing outside.”   They were – in fact, it was hard to keep up with them.   Haha – girly exteriors with a tom boy flare – they were great.  We played in hay bales, we threw leaves and we played with horses.  My goal for every photography session is to create a fun experience that isn’t just about getting pictures done but having a memorable experience as a family.  If I can get some great photos on top of that, then I have done my job.   Here are some of my favorites from the Morgan Family Photo Session.

Meet this little precious baby girl.  I had the honor of photographing her parents for their wedding and now, the honor of photographing their little family.   I never know how a baby session will turn out – because they are just so unpredictable.  I think many parents stress that their child won’t behave perfectly or smile like they are in a Gap catalog.  For all those parents, I say.. Relax.   Not one session, have I had a perfect “model” baby that knows how to smile and work the camera.  Haha… but they always seem to manage just fine and turn on the charm at just the right moment.   Here are some adorable baby pictures from the Miss Luella…

The Ball Family is one of my favorite families in Louisville.   For one, they are pretty much zany.  Yep, I said zany… that is probably the best word to describe them.  They are just fun – people just like to hang out with them – single people, college students – pretty much everyone.  I think that is pretty awesome if your family just makes everyone feel at home and included.   That’s how I feel with them.   Here’s some with my session with the incredible zany Ball family :)
