I love this ring shot from their wedding .. because i am a snoop and ask tons of questions about their lives, I discovered that this is the beer that they had on their first date. It’s their drink.. they went from sharing a drink – to sharing their lives. AWWWWW :) I know – so deep. haha. Melissa and Steve had a beautiful small wedding in Louisville. The whole wedding – ceremony and reception was just plain sweet. I mean that literally and figuratively – since Melissa and her whole family can cook – they put a high premium on quality food and fortunately, I was able to appreciate it fully. haha. Here are some of the highlights from the wedding and intimate reception here in Louisville. I loved being their photographer.

38 votes // vote as favoriteOne of my favorite parts of the wedding, was this tub of beer! They had so many different kinds and they were labeled for the person who liked that type of beer. Such a thoughtful and personal touch, I thought.

Megan celebrated her birthday with me by doing a fun portrait photography session. Megan went with me to Kenya this past summer and we quickly became “bff’s to be”. She is funny and quirky and just plain adorable. I always laugh when I am with her. Here’s some from my fun photo session with Megan..
39 votes // vote as favoriteA little fun fact about Megan – she loves barns. So, I went through some of the backwoods of Louisville to look for the perfect outdoor setting. We found it – barns, dock, pond and a gorgeous field. Such a natural setting for a natural beauty. Seriously she is a natural beauty .. i didn’t do too much with these photos. Don’t hate.. she’s just that pretty. You can’t hate her anyway.. her personality is just too cute. Try not to smile back at her…

37 votes // vote as favoriteBecause I love this field, I can’t just stop with one photo…haha. This next series, consists of me asking Megan to run and play in this field. The bottom left corner is one of the times, she tripped or lost her shoe. Yes, she is even cute when she falls so I had to include it.
34 votes // vote as favoriteAfter all that running, I had her rest in the nice green grass where it just so happens that these beautiful yellow flowers were growing. :) i may have put them there.. there’s no telling!! If you say, this looks twilight… she will love you for that. She happens to like that book.

As I sat down to do this post, I went through all of these photos to mark which ones I wanted to use in the blog post. I pretty much marked all 83 photos. haha. So, for your sake – I cut back -way back. But just so you know, lots of favorites. Kristina brought lots of fun props to play with which always adds to my creativity. In the above picture, you can tell that Robert wanted to play with the props too. Haha – such a playful couple to photograph. All these pictures are taken in Anchorage. There are beautiful fields and hiking trails as well as one of my favorite ice cream shops eva!! It’s right next to the Village Anchor which is also delish. Here are some of my favorites from their engagement photography session. Can’t wait to do their wedding in November!!

36 votes // vote as favoriteKelly and Jonathan found me at a bridal show. Now, I have only been to one bridal show, but they are not exactly the sit down and get to know each other kind of atmosphere that I prefer. So, I am surprised we were even able to connect but we did!! I am so glad I went just to get to know them. Kelly’s personality is very much like my own in which we just jump in and figure stuff out as we go. Kelly and I are people who will just try something and take the risk. I imagine if it were just us two – we might get in trouble. Thankfully, Jonathan is more of the wait a minute, let’s think this through kind of guy. During the engagement session, he said, “maybe we should ask permission before we climb this fence.” Haha.. stuff like that. Whereas Kelly and I woulda done climbed it! :) It’s true. He really is the perfect match for her. And their wedding was beautiful and classic just like Kelly. It was such an honor to be able to be their wedding photographer and to become their friend. Here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding and reception at Audubon Country Club.

As I post this entry, I keep singing in my head “Baby mine, don’t you cry. Baby mine, dry your eyes.” Babies’ crying slay me.. i just have to pick them up right away. I made her cry in the beginning of this shoot… i put her on a cold surface and she just didn’t want to be there. Although – it is a great picture.. i just don’t have the heart to post it. Haha.. i am such a softie!! This is Ansley.. and she is super precious!! Welcome to the world Ansley and let me just tell you – that you have an amazing family who is pretty much crazy about you! I think she is trying to tell her Daddy something.. like watch out I’m gonna pee all over you. haha.

I pretty much love this kid. I have known him since 6th grade when he used to bounce into my sunday morning bible study class and hide. I don’t know if you have ever tried to teach 6th graders before but let me just tell you – they are a challenge. Many mornings i would come in to an empty classroom (correction – empty of boys). The girls were seated ready for class, the boys were always hiding somewhere in the room waiting for me to find them. After the third week of finding them in the cabinets, I stopped looking for them – eventually they would come out “Ms. Julie – we are here. Fooled you!!” Yep you fooled me. They were so much fun and ridiculous at the same time! Mark would always ask me random questions that had nothing (and i mean nothing) to do with the lesson. In fact, he would follow me out of the classroom to tell me more random tales. And here he is A SENIOR!!! Ok, i am not going to lie.. i kinda feel a bit old. And believe it or not, he still likes to ask me random questions. He’s a great mix of contemplative thinking and goofy fun guy. I hope that shows in his pictures. Here are some of the favorites from his Louisville senior photography session.

One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is taking engagement photos. The engagement photo session allows the photographer to get to know the bride and groom and get a feel for who they are before the wedding. I also find that engagement sessions helps the bride and groom become more comfortable with their wedding photographer so that you end up with some amazing shots. That’s what happened with Emily and Luke as they began to be comfortable with me and get creative and make suggestions by their end of their shoot. So enjoyed getting to know them. And i am looking forward to their Louisville WEDDING in just a few weeks!!!
We spent the day in Louisville and had so much fun. Luke really surprised me when he showed up with his uniform on.. it totally changed the game plan for the day! And we went to Old Louisville and St. James Park to match what he was wearing with the best background. Here are some of my favorites.
14 votes // vote as favoriteI love Emily’s sass!! Her personality is so bubbly and fun.. she is adorable. I like how Luke is keeping his composure.. “like he has been trained”… but i think he may have a soft spot for some little cutey!!
